Scenario: Web-based Corporate communications system.
Business: An international service organisation.
Challenge: An Intranet based corporate communications system hosted at the ACT Datacentre. Due to the international nature of the customer's business the system needed to be operational 24 hours a day and available to users worldwide.
Solution: We specified, designed and implemented:
- Dualised system servers with our proprietary automatic failover software for the data and web servers.
- System data structures designed and based on the Oracle RDBMS.
- Tight data security by the use of a central firewall and the SSL protocol, ensuring that confidential company data could not be seen by unauthorised users.
- Assurance that international users were correctly authenticated, only being given access to data as specified by central administrators.
- Software tools to allow central administrators to carry out essential tasks on the system.
- Quick start guides and user manuals to assist our customer with the training of their staff worldwide.
